- Is this course approved by the Florida Board of Cosmetology?
- Yes. Course Approval No. 0501804. Continuous Learning LLC is an approved provider, Provider Approval No. 0010717.
- Who can take it?
- Florida Nail Specialists and Full Specialists. Florida Cosmetologists who do nail services may also use it; the CE requirement is the same 10 hours per renewal cycle under FAC 61G5-32.001.
- Does it cover all 10 required hours?
- Yes. One completion covers all eight required subjects: HIV/AIDS 1.0, sanitation and sterilization 3.0, OSHA 0.5, workers’ compensation 0.5, state and federal laws 2.0, chemical makeup 1.0, environmental issues 1.0, and a 1.0-hour elective on nail disorders.
- When does my access start and end?
- Access starts the day you enroll and pay. It ends 365 calendar days later, or when you pass the final exam and your certificate is issued, whichever comes first. Your welcome email states both dates in writing.
- What if I run out of time?
- You get one free 90-day extension, and your progress is kept. Request it from your account page, or email us.
- Why can’t I skip ahead?
- Florida requires online CE seat time to match the hours awarded. Each module has a minimum time (its CE hours). Inside a module you can move between sections freely; the next module — and finally the exam — unlocks when the module’s time is met. The timer pauses when you switch tabs or step away, so leaving the page open does not count.
- Can I stop and come back? Can I use my phone?
- Yes to both. Log in and out as often as you like, on any device. The course saves your place.
- What is the final exam like?
- 40 multiple-choice questions, 5 from each module. You need 75% (30 correct) to pass. It is open book, there is no time limit, and you can retake it if you do not pass. Each module also has a short practice check that you can retake and that does not affect your certificate.
- Do I have to report my hours to DBPR?
- No. We report your completion to DBPR / CE Broker for you after you pass. You also get a PDF certificate by email. If a completion is not showing in CE Broker 30 days after you finish, email us.
- How long should I keep my certificate?
- At least 4 years. Your certificate, receipt, and a read-only copy of the course stay downloadable from your account for 4 years after you finish.
- Is my access window the same as my renewal deadline?
- No. We set your access window; DBPR sets your license renewal deadline. Check your renewal date in MyDBPR and finish well before it — we suggest at least 30 days.
- How much does it cost?
- $14.95 for the full 10-hour course.
- Is the course available in other languages?
- This website, your account pages, our emails, and the course itself — the lessons, practice checks, and final exam — are available in English, Vietnamese, Mandarin, and Spanish. You can switch languages at any time inside the course. Your certificate of completion is issued in English.
